Safety Glass

Toughened or laminated for every application.

Laminated safety glass is made by bonding two or more layers of glass together with a tough, transparent interlayer. This holds the glass layers together even when broken, significantly enhancing safety and durability. The interlayer also helps reduce noise, making laminated glass ideal for sound-sensitive environments. It is widely used for balustrades and canopies, windows and doors, roof glazing and skylights and acoustic partitions.

Toughened (or tempered) glass, has been heat treated to increase its strength. It is up to five times stronger than standard (annealed) glass of the same thickness and highly resistant to breakage. In the rare event that it does break, it shatters into small, blunt-edged fragments, significantly reducing the risk of serious injury.

Common uses include shower screens, glass doors and partitions, balconies and balustrades, shopfronts, table tops and splashbacks.
